Stem Mastering

If you’ve taken your mix as far as you can but still don’t feel absolutely certain it’s ready for mastering, then stem mastering might be for you.

Stem mastering is a powerful technique in modern mastering, offering more control and precision than traditional stereo mastering. By working with your track’s core components, a more balanced, dynamic, and professional-sounding final product can be achieved without affecting the original intention of the mix.

It could be as simple as an instrumental and a vocal stem, or a more elaborate breakdown (vocals, drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, etc.), perhaps to tackle a specific issue. E.g, low end elements fighting for space, or muddiness around the vocals.

Get in touch with us if you’d like to learn more or to discuss if stem mastering could be right for you.
